The Argyle Public Library is governed by its Board of Trustees, which meets monthly to oversee library operations, set policy, appropriate funds, and ensure the library continues to serve the community’s needs. Board meetings are open to the public.

Board Authority & Responsibilities
The Library Board of Trustees holds authority and responsibilities as established by Wisconsin Statutes, Chapter 43. Key responsibilities include:
- Selecting, appointing, and when necessary dismissing the Library Director
- Establishing staff positions and wage/benefit levels
- Setting and reviewing library policies
- Appropriating funds and approving the annual budget
- Providing community input and oversight for library development
- Conducting annual performance appraisals of the Library Director
Board Meetings
The Library Board of Trustees meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 pm. Meetings are held at the Argyle Public Library, 321 E Milwaukee St., Argyle, WI 53504. All meetings are open to the public.
